Frequently Asked Questions
We are dedicated to providing a warm and caring environment to the children in our care while utilising an educational approach to their learning and providing a nutritional and balanced diet for their physical development.
Journey The Right Way
-
How can I enrol my child at your centre?Simply complete an enrolment form along with our ‘All About Me’ form for each child you’re enrolling and turn them in along with other required documents, such as: An up-to-date immunisation certificate Any medical action plans from your family GP Before you enrol, however, we strongly recommend that you tour our centre first and do a consultation with our centre manager to discuss the needs of your child.
-
What does my child need to bring?Every day, your child will need to bring the following in a clearly labelled bag (but not a plastic shopping bag due to its risks to children): At least two complete changes of clothes, including socks, underwear, pants/shorts/dress, t-shirt/skivvy, jumpers, singlets, and shoes A minimum of six pairs of underpants, pants, socks, and another pair of shoes if your child is toilet training A dummy, bottle, formula (if required), and a comfort toy or rug (if required) In winter: Warm hat Coat Gum boots In summer: Sun hat Clothing that covers shoulders Sunglasses Please ensure all personal items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Also, make sure your child is dressed in clothes and shoes that allow them to participate freely in all activities. Since your child will engage in messy activities, avoid sending them in their best or going-out clothes. If your child is toilet training, dress them in pants that are easy to remove, such as tracksuit pants with no zips or buttons. Thongs and slip-on shoes are not allowed.
-
When and how do I pay?Fees for the first two weeks of attendance are due on the first day of enrolment. The rest are due weekly via direct debit. Full fees are to be paid for all the days your child is enrolled, including public holidays and days of absence.
-
How does Child Care Benefit (CCB) affect your fees?Child Care Benefit (CCB) is available to subsidise your fees. Application forms and information brochures are available at the Centrelink office. Please contact the Family Assistance Office (FAO) at 13 6150 when commencing at the centre, as full fees will be charged until your CCB percentage is advised to us. A full explanation of childcare benefits and parents' responsibilities is available from the centre office.
-
What happens if I can’t collect my child on time? The centre closes at 6:30 pm. Parents/guardians should be aware that late arrival places significant stress on the children and staff. A late fee of $15 for every 15 minutes or part thereof after closing time will apply until your child is collected. This amount is payable immediately and will attract a $20 account keeping fee. Continual lateness will result in the cancellation of care. If you do not collect your child after 15 minutes, we will contact the emergency contacts provided on your enrolment form. If we fail to reach anyone, we will notify the police and follow their instructions. It is very important that you inform the centre if you are going to arrive later than 6:30 pm to avoid the above procedure. This will not exempt you from paying the late fee.
-
What are the arrival and pick-up procedures?Children are to be delivered to and collected from inside the building by a responsible adult. Parents/guardians or delegated persons must sign their children in and out of the centre using the attendance book provided in each child’s room. In cases of emergency, we need to be sure of who is in the centre. Please notify the centre via phone if your child will not be attending. Your child’s absence will need to be recorded on the attendance record as a requirement of the Family Assistance Office. A parent’s signature is also required to acknowledge the absence.
-
What if my details change? It is extremely important for the welfare of each child that the centre maintains up-to-date enrolment details. Parents are requested to promptly advise the centre manager of any changes to contact details, workplace, marital status, people authorised to contact your child, allergies, immunisation details, and other important information.
-
What if I have complaints or concerns about your service? We value your feedback and concerns seriously as we endeavour to always improve our services. Please discuss any concerns you may have with the relevant educator. They will discuss your concern with the centre manager for an appropriate resolution. If you feel further action is necessary after discussion with the educator, please call our centre at 9369 5888 or book a one-on-one meeting with the centre management to discuss the matter.
